Corporate Partners

The IEEE Student Branch at UT Austin would not exist without the generous support of corporate partners. We're always pleased to develop new relationships with our electrical engineering counterparts in the professional world. Need internship or job positions filled? Supporting a Branch event is a great way to do it! For more information about ways your company can work with the Branch, please refer to the Corporate Flyer (PDF).

If you or your company would like to get involved with our branch, please contact our corporate liaison (corporate.liaison at ieee.ece.utexas.edu). If you are a company that is already scheduled for a meeting and need directions to campus, please see our maps page.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

  • Where can I get all of the details of sponsoring a meeting, event, etc.? On our Corporate Flyer here: Corporate Flyer (PDF).
  • What corporate support opportunities are available? Our primary events are general meetings, held every 2 weeks, generally on a Thursday evening. Another event, especially popular with graduate students, is a technical lunch. We also host periodic social events such as Frag-a-thons (LAN Parties) and Fajita Fest.
  • Is there a deposit required? Yes; a $600 deposit will cover all expenses for regular meetings. We will use this money to provide our members with incentives such as food and prizes. This encourages an even greater turnout for your presentation.
  • What is the cost of the room? See above.
  • Are there any equipment-related costs? Not for general meetings. Social events may have different costs, so please contact out corporate liaison
  • What is the average number of attendees for your meetings? Generally 50-100 students
  • Can you provide a general student classification distribution? For general meetings, there is a skew towards undergraduate students. For other events, especially technical lunches, there may be more graduate students
  • Are there events other than general meetings where we can come present? If your company wants to present, it should be either at a general meeting or at a lunch presentation. We usually don't have presentations at Fajita Fest or other primarily social events. However, we are open to working with your company to come up with a new, unique event that is a blend of both social activities and presentation by solely your company if that is what you would like. The details of that, of course, would be different from presenting at a general meeting and more discussion would have to take place between our organization and your company.
  • What days do you have available? Contact our corporate liaison for specific days and to make any other arrangements
